Meet "Gumbo" a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix "puppy" that falls all over himself and yes, thinks he's a lap-dog!

Gumbo is a sweetie, although he does have a hard time holding it all day in a crate.  He's great with other dogs and Bambi has really come to love him, as has my wife.  He sleeps at the foot of our bed and has already learned to signal to go out, sit and wait and walk on a leash.  Lil fella just needs a good home!

Meet our very first foster, SAMANTHA and her 9 puppies which she gave birth to on Sept 23rd 2002.

Gail (my wife) volunteers at the Farmers Branch animal shelter and had seen Samantha and couldn't stand the thought of her giving birth and raising puppies in an animal shelter when we had a spare bedroom.  We brought her home a week before the birth so she could get used to us and she is a very intelligent and people-loving dog.  She does however seem a bit bossy, and puts Rocky and Bambi in their place from time to time although no blood has been spilled!

Samantha and the puppies are (will be) available for adoption from the Farmers Branch animal shelter once the puppies are weaned - about 8 weeks from today.  Please check back as I will update this page!

MORE IMAGES!  The puppies are getting fat and sassy, and Samantha is settling in and enjoying her foster care.  We have nicknamed the big black puppy "samson" and he is living up to his name as one of the strongest of the dogs!  Seen here he pushes mightily against the unseen pillars keeping him from his mothers teat! Samson is currently spoken for by a friend of mine from work (hey Ian!) but he has lots of brothers and sisters still looking for a good home.
