The Obligatory "Owners" page about BambiAugust 15, 2002
To read more about Vizsla's see this page: http://www.vizsladogs.com/ May 21 (From GAIL) Subject: Bambi's vet visitI just got back from picking Bambi up from the vet. There is real good news for the pup. Other then the ant bites and being underweight she's in good shape. The vet gave Bambi all her vaccinations and first dose of heartworm/flea-tick preventative. We'll go back in a month to weigh her again and get more of the heartworm stuff. The vet won't spay her until she's 6 months old so we have 2 months to go. Bambi now has a birthday of 1-20-02. Party invitations to follow. The microchip will go in while she's under anesthesia for the spay. Bambi currently weighs 20.2 pounds and is eating constantly. She has made great inroads on the Puppy Chow Bryan bought her in Rusk as well as the Bil Jac that her big brother Rocky gets. I can already tell a difference when I pick her up. She gonna be a chunk! One man in the vet's office asked me if she was a Great Dane pup - Rocky would have a cow! She played with her ball last night for a little while although she's still now sure what to do with it. Of course for puppies, when in doubt chew on it and that's what she did. We're still paying musical dogs at home and keeping them apart other then sniffs. Bambi is doing fine in her crate although we still hear some pitiful puppy whines from time to time. John's parents have been notified that they have a second grand-dog. I guess we need to make them a t-shirt next. More dog bytes to come. UPDATE(s): May 22, 2002From John: Subject: Surprise!I knew Rocky was smart, and suspected Bambi was from clues she'd dropped so far, but considering the hard time we'd had when they first met I suspected it would take some time before they were getting along. So imagine my surprise when I arrive home Tuesday night, May 21'st and walk in to see Rocky and Bambi playing like old friends - chasing one another like old pals! I still keep an eye on them, but Rocky has done a great job and now that Bambi has quit trying to bite him they are getting along great. Will wonders never cease?! |
