Hwy 27 From Chattanooga to Powell's Crossroads (Suggs Creek Road) Hwy 30 From near McMinnville, TN towards Dayton. Hwy 41 From Pellham (North of Monteagle Mtn) all the way to Chattanooga. Hwy 52 Out of Livingston, TN towards Jamestown. Hwy 53 From Gainesboro, TN to Chestnut Mound. Hwy 70N TN 70 - Tennessee 70 north from Rogersville to Jonesville, VA is one of the most spectacular motorcycle roads in the east. I know that says a lot but it combines extreme twisties, switchbacks, and steep climbs with splendid vistas and lush valleys. The pavement is good and there are very few cars. Just a FUN road to ride. TN 70 south of Rogersville is a fun road too but not as scenic as north. From Elmwood, TN to the junction of Hwy 56 is also reportedly very nice ... Hwy 85 Out of Gainesboro, TN towards Livingston. TN 96 Tennessee Highway 96 between Milton, TN
and the junction of US Highway 70 (where 96 "empties") is an extremely scenic
route, especially for a larger highway. While not an especially twisty route,
you will enjoy beautiful hillsides with scenic farms all along the route. Hwy 104 From Reagan, TN to Lexington. Hwy 116 From junction with I-75 (North of Knoxville) to Junction of 62 (Near Petros, TN). US 129 US 129, from the Intersection of US-129
and North Carolina State Highway 28 (at the Crossroads of Time filling station
and motorcycle campground) north into Tennessee. Deal's Gap is 11 miles long
and features 318 curves. The northern end goes by Fontana Dam and then
parallels the lake. Very scenic. Can be very challenging depending on how fast
you attempt to run the Gap (aka "The Dragon"). There are no side roads or people living along the road in the Gap. Robbinsville, NC to the south and Maryville, TN (just west of Knoxville), to the north. TN 265 TN State Route 265 between Bairds Mill, TN (Junction of US 231) and the junction of TN State Route 171 is a moderately challenging course with lots of scenery and twists. In one place you crest a hill and you can see only portions of the route twisting in what appear to be almost impossible directions. You'll descend a long way in a short time as you work through some enjoyable curves toward the base of this hill. TN 265 Tennessee State Route 266 between Smyrna and Lascassas is a beautiful ride, taking you through nice rolling hills, scenic rivers, and one old antebellum mansion. It features a nice blend of twists and scenery and is an excellent ride for any size bike. Be careful when passing the mansion (you'll know it when you see it). The road becomes a nest of twists and turns around the mansion, so don't be staring at it too much. There is a nice winding creek around the mansion also. The quaint old town of Lascassas is something not to be missed. Cherohala SkyWay, North Carolina & Tennessee This brand-spanking new road runs between Robbinsville, NC (located on US 129 about 20 miles south of Deal's Gap) and Telico Plains, Tennessee. It runs between 4,000 and 5,800 in elevation and not only has flawless blacktop and breathtaking scenery. Natchez Trace Parkway The most beautiful road I\'ve been on in TN. Countryside, hills, bridges, wildlife, etc. all on a perfectly maintained road. Take your time and a camera, just too gorgeous to miss. Lots of history, little traffic, but plenty of park rangers. Book on tape available with real-time commentary See http://www.dealsgap.com for more info. From Tellico Lake to Crossroads of Time |
