Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge 3877 Highway 88 West  Mena, AR 71953

PARK/CAMPSITE RESERVATIONS:    (501) 394-2863

LODGE RESERVATIONS:                     1-800-264-2477

Park facilities include 40 campsites (35 Class A & 5 tent sites), picnic areas, trails, a miniature scenic railroad, animal park, miniature golf course (open seasonally), laundry and store. The Lodge has (2) Queen's Rooms (1 with a fireplace) at $100/two persons/day and about 36 other rooms divided into either two double bed rooms at $67/two persons/day or queen-size-bed rooms at $57/two persons/day.  The two Queen's rooms have whirlpool tubs and are very nice.

Exit the lodge on Hwy 88 (Skyline Drive, AR) East to Mena where we will take 59 to 71 North.  About 59 miles will take us to the "El Chaparrel" a Mexican restaurant in Waldron.  A decision on whether to eat lunch there or not can be made. We will then catch 268 W (Left on 8'th) to state Hwy 9, and then Hwy 7 S. After a few fun miles we'll merge onto 127 S.  which we'll take back to Hwy 270 / 59 W. which we can use to take 272 back on Skyline Drive. The entire trip is only about 90 miles, the first 56 to the restaurant fairly comfortable for those arriving that morning and needing restful riding.

If you choose you can eat at the lodge or at one of the other restaurants and just join in on the ride.  You can then just have liquids and perhaps desert at the break stop, or continue riding as you see fit. Other good roads in the area include 131 and 14, Hwy 23, Hwy 8 / 63 and Hwy 1 (the name of the Talihina skyway as it goes into OK towards Talihina) ... as well as many side roads.  Microsoft Trips and Streets 2001 will be available via laptop for those wishing to explore ...
